I was in my kayak with my dad and we'd caught a few nice pickerel around 20 inches, but then we paddled down river a ways and started throwing Mepps in the current. A little while later, my dad was retying and I hooked up with the monster. He was on a sandbar and couldn't see the fish and he thought it was a little guy. A minute later I picked it up after it almost snapped my brand new rod and realized that it was definitely my new personal best!
