Lure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
I could not believe how many bass I caught on this lure! All big largemouth bass 10 over 2 pounds and two over three pounds. I will keep this one in my arsenal.Lure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Walleye
We bought our first Black Fury in 1960. After that we have bought lots of Mepps exclusive.Lure: Thunder Bug
Fish Caught: Bluegill (Bream, Brim)
The Cricket Thunderbug is one of the very best bluegill lures I've ever used. This is not surprising, since crickets are known as a great bluegill bait. I've caught maybe hundreds of bluegills on the Thunderbug in many lakes in Northeast Kansas. Lake Lenexa is a small flood control lake with very clear water for a Kansas lake. The darker color of the cricket Thunderbug is perfect for clearer water.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
It was another tough, tough day at a private pond near my in-laws. The conditions couldn't have been worse and after 1.5hrs and only 3 fish to my name...I was ready to throw in the towel. I threw just about every lure I could think of that would work in shallow weedy conditions and was ready to throw in the towel until I remembered how easily it was to keep an Aglia right above the weeds in this shallow water.Lure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye
I have found that Black Furies work amazingly well in two situations: In and around rocky shorelines and reeling them fast over spawning fish. I caught nearly a ten pound largemouth last year right next to a rocky shore.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim)
I've caught many bass (and other fish) for many years on Mepps dressed Aglia lures.Lure: Bass Pocket Pac - #3 XD Dressed

I have been trolling spinners and crankbaits for 30 years. I have tried every spinner on the market. For 2 years I fished the pro bass circuit in the 70s. I fish at least 2 days a week. When you are tolling there is absoleutly nothing that will catch as many fish as the Mepps XD spinners. You need to use a ball bearing swivel and 10lb braid line or 8lb monofilament line. Saturday my son and I went fishing and caught one 5lb Walleye, 3 crappie over 12" and 19 white bass on these Mepps XD spinners. We also caught 12 hybrids that were an average of 2 lbs. And, we threw back 6 crappies over 11" long. The Mepps XD is the most reliable bait you can use while casting or trolling.Lure: Timber Doodle
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
Mepps spinners and spoons are excellent outside of brush and weeds. When it comes to dropping the bait inside of cover where the big ones hide thats when the Timber Doodle comes into play. Floating vegetation where you have to fish slop is where the Timber Doodle works best. Just cast it and drag it across the top and shake it in the open pockets and hang on. Sperotic weed beds won't hang it up and where there are logs and trees, use the 1/2 ounce and drag it on the bottom and short hop it like a bass jig. Dynomite addition to the Mepps line up.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye
I can't say enouph about the Aglia. I have cought many diffrent kinds of fish with this spinner. The Aglia will catch anything. This spring I have already caught hundreds of bass and haven't used hardly anything else.Lure: Comet Mino
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye
To sum up this spinner anything that will feed on shad or minnows will hit a Mepps Comet Mino.Lure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye
The Aglia might be my spinner during the day, but, when it comes to low light evenings or overcast days where there is little sunlight, I go to the Black Fury. Yellow and florescent red are my faves. Just throw it and reel it in. It catches anything. Thanks, Mepps, you are my number one lure.Lure: Syclops
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye
I have fished the Syclops for so long I don't remember using any other spoon. The Syclops can be casted, jigged or trolled. It is deadly throgh the ice or casting for bass. The #00 is excelent for crappie and trout and the #1 and #2 is promising for bass, walleye and other larger fish. I dont think you can fish this spoon wrong, just put it in the water and pull them out. Silver, gold and the black-and-white are good colors. The colored spoons are good with single hooks with a Mister Twister Grub.Lure: Timber Doodle
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
The Timber Doodle has ben around for over twenty years for one reason. It simpaly catches fish. Throw it in the weeds, trees logs or fish it in slop. You can't go wrong. Fish it like a bass jig hoping it off the bottom and it's dynomite. Thanks again Mepps for years of pleasure.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Rainbow
What does the Aglia "not" catch? I have caught everything from bluegill, crappie, bass and even a few rainbow trout for Mepps awards. The Aglia plain catches everything that swims.Lure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, White - Crappie (Black)
I have not been shut out using this lure. I have had two of these lures one black tail with yellow dots and one black tail with the different tinted green dots(Hot Firetiger) and both have been quite successful in landing nice size fish.Lure: Thunder Bug
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Sunfish (shellcracker)
I'm a long-time Mepps fisherman. Just recently tried the Thunder Bug line. I'm catching an astonishing number of panfish on the Cricket color (dark gray), both single and treble hooks, both plain and dressed. Can't wait to try the other colors.Lure: Thunder Bug
I caught numerous LARGE bluegill and green sunfish on the Cricket Thunder BugLure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Catfish, Channel
Every year I catch channel catfish on various Mepps spinners. Catfish bait fisherman can't believe it. One day I got to Atchison SFL early. There was a guy sitting on a picnic table, had been camping. I walked up and caught a nice 5lb channel on my first cast. He walked over to some other campers and said "did you see that guy catch a catfish on his first catch? I've been fishing all night without even a nibble." You never know what fish will hit a Mepps.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
I've caught many a Bass with the Aglia Dressed spinners and I always keep several spares in case a tree limb gets in my way.Lure: XD
Fish Caught: Bluegill (Bream, Brim)
I have been using Mepps spinners for as long as I have been fishing. If I had to go into the wilderness and bring just one lure to catch fish to survive on it would undoubtably be a Mepps spinner, and my first choice would be a Mepps XD spinner. The size 0 XD dressed is the best Bluegill lure ever and catches the BIGGEST bluegill of any lure I have tried. I've also caught some of my biggest trout and crappie on the XD spinner. I NEVER leave home without a good selection of XD's.Lure: XD
Fish Caught: Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (White) - Walleye
I have caught different species of fish on Mepps XD spinners. They are my absolute go-to lure whenever and wherever I fish.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Now folks I've been fishing with Mepps Spinners since the early 1960's and they catch fish. I brag on My Mepps Spinners because they work. If you need one, either call Shep or call me because my tackle box is full of 'em and that is what's on my line. Mepps Spinners catch fish that is all there is to know.Lure: Mike's Choice for Bass
I've been hooked on Mepps Spinners since the early 1960's with a #3 Black Fury. That day was wonderful, and now, I won't buy anything but Mepps Spinners. Shep I thank you for the best spinner in the world ------- Charles KeevertLure: XD
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Walleye
I have been using Mepps spinners for over 25 years. My favorite fish are panfish (crappie, bluegill, white bass, redear sunfish, etc.) although I have caught my share of walleye and bass. I have found the XD spinners in size 0 dressed single or treble hook to be among the most deadly lures for large panfish. The brightly colored ones (firetiger) are particularly awesome. I basically fish them slow and steady, trying to keep the lure spinning just off the bottom. If I know the body of water I'm fishing has BIG panfish this is my go-to lure. In addition to the panfish I almost always catch a nice largemouth, walleye, or even channel catfish on these spinners. I don't ever leave home without them when I fish.
