2009 - July Testimonials

Jeffrey Voss – Rock Creek, Imperial, Missouri

Lure: Little Wolf

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Walleye

About a month ago, I placed an on-line Mepps order for several spinners. Through a fabulous Mepps promo, I received 2 free "Little Wolf" spoons which I used for the first time yesterday; and what a day!
I had about 2 hours to kill after work, so I decided to hit one of my favorite little streams close to home.
I started out fishing my normal "go-to" lure (a Mepps #1 Aglia Long), and was catching my fair share of fish, when I came to a slightly deeper stretch of water. I was just about to tie on a bottom bouncing lures of some kind, when I rememebered that I had my new "Little Wolf" with me, and thought, "now's as good a time as any to give 'em a try". - Boy, am I glad I had that thought. I caught all of the above mentioned species and then some. I also landed a couple of sauger, and a few spotted bass (one of which was about 2 pounds). In about an hour-and-half, I landed somewhere in the vicinity of 40 fish in all on this lure.
The Mepps "Little Wolf" certainly made a believer out of me, and has been added to my list of favorite lures.

Big Bill – Longmeadow, Connecticut

Lure: Timber Doodle Split Double Tails

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth

These work great for spinnerbait trailers besides on the weedless Timber Doodle.

Julie Curtes – Perrault Lake, Canada, Wisconsin

Lure: Magnum Musky Killer

Fish Caught: Musky

I have been using your Silver bladed, black bucktail Magnum Musky Killer for about 5 years now. In 2005 I caught my biggest musky to date, which was 45" and 30 lbs on Perrault Lake in Northwestern Ontario. I retired that bait and replaced it with the same Magnum Musky Killer. Since then I have caught many large northerns and small muskies. And now this past Saturday I caught my 2nd biggest musky which was 43". The fish almost swallowed the bait whole. I love this bait and plan on purchasing a new one soon. My replacement is about out of life. Thanks so much!!

Frank Benning – Waterford MI, All Lakes, Michigan

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Bowfin - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Perch, Yellow - Pickerel - Pike, Northern - Sunfish (shellcracker)

I use the #3 squirrel tail/silver blade, along with some custom made Mepps. I always have at least one pole with it on, sometimes 3 poles. I outfish everyone with this lure alone.

Chris – Lake Paige, New Milford, Pennsylvania

Lure: DeepRunner

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth

I just got this lure and I was very surprised the first time I threw it in the water. It casts farther then any other spinner on the market and dives deep to the fish that are feeding on the bottem. I have to say this lure is unlike any other spinner in my box and highly recomend it if you're looking to catch a lot of fish. I never leave home without it!

Dan – Rose River Shenandoah National Park , Virginia

Lure: Thunder Bug

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook

Today I used the ultra-light Thunderbug Grasshopper and Stonefly on native brook trout in the Shenandoah National Park. What a great pair of lures!!!! Absolutely the best summer native brook trout lure that I have found. July is a very tough time to catch native brookies in the Park, and these lures produced strike after strike.

Rick Allen – St. Lawrence River, Fishers Landing, NY, New York

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth

I caught seven 8-12" largemouth bass in less than 30 minutes with this awesome lure. Unfortunately I can no longer find them and I lost mine on my next fishing trip after getting hung-up in some rocks. Please let me know where to find them.

Roger Urquhart – Rocky Lake, Angevine Lake And Lake Charles, NS Ca, Nova Scotia , Canada

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow - Trout, Sea/Speckled

Hi, well as a complete Fishing Novice, (7 weeks as of this write up), I was having trouble catching anything so I did some homework on the local fish species to see what the lakes were stocked with.

I then put a search in to find out how to catch these fish and I kept finding links to 'The worlds best Lures, MEPPS', so I clicked on one which brought me here. Well I bought #1,2 and 3 Aglia trebles to experiment with and WOW !! Things changed overnight, these things really work, thank you MEPPS I'm having great results now!
