2012 - June Testimonials

Dillon Thompson – Kennedy Meadows Pack Station, California

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

I used the 1/8th oz. Rainbow Trout Aglia to catch 26 nice size Rainbow Trout in one day at the Kennedy Meadows Pack Station. This truly is the Worlds Number One Lure.

Adrian Webb – Leven River, Loongana, Tasmania Australia

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Trout, Brown

Headed off to the upper reaches of the Leven River this morning to fish above the Loongana Bridge which is still open as it is classed as Rainbow waters. Beautiful morning when I left home, sunshine and very little breeze, the perfect start to the day. When I arrived at Loongana, some 86kms from home, it was a different story. Quite a lot of cloud cover on and off and a very cold westerly wind, plus the odd light sprinkle of rain to top it off. The river had a nice amount of water flowing and was very tannin in colour, so decided to go to a little larger Mepps than I normally use. On with a #0 (2.5gm) Gold Black Fury and off I went. Certainly glad I had the thermals on as the river was like ice.
Was only on the forth cast and had a hook-up, and it was a nice solid medium sized brown and the colours of this fish were brilliant too. A quick photo and back it went, worked my way upstream for another 500mtrs or so and did not have a hit or a follow, so time to move further upstream. Drove up a few kms and took a little track that ran off to the left this led me down to an old wooden bridge and over the river to a nice little reserve. Started working my way upstream once again and after 20-30minutes of slipping and sliding along, I finally hooked another solid little brown which also had it's photo taken and then released. Fished on for another few hundred meters before calling it a day. And though I could only catch 2 browns from the only two hits I had, it was a fairly reasonble few hours on the Leven River. I doubt that I shall return again until the next season around Jan - Feb 2013, we'll see how it fishes then. The Mepps Black Fury once again showed how good they were as without them, I doubt that I may have caught a fish. Cheers from " The Mepps Spinfishing Guru of Tasmania"

Brent Alexander – Smithton, Illinois

Lure: Spin Flies

Fish Caught: Trout, Rainbow

While on vacation in N Georgia, I took time to fish with my Ultra Lite on the Soque River. I wanted to just relax and possibly net a few rainbows. To my suprise, I caught a number of really big rainbow trout, one was a 10.7 lb monster! All of the fish were caught on my favorite little Wooly Worm Spin Fly by Mepps. I made a YouTube video of the catch and release and give Mepps credit! Look up "Big Rainbow Trout on the Soque River" by Brent Alexander 1 and check it out! Thank you for making the best lure in the world!

Outdoorsman – Wisconsin

Lure: Spin Flies

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown

The Mepps Spin Fly is a great trout spinner. I caught the biggest fish probably ever in our little creek on these spinners.

R Todd – Small Lakes And Ponds Eastern Nebraska

Lure: Aglia Ultra Lites

Fish Caught: Bluegill (Bream, Brim)

Bought a couple Mepps sizes 0 and 1 for trout fishing during a trip to Colorado last year. Never considered using them on Panfish until I got tired of fishing with natural baits for Bluegill in Nebraska. Tied on a size 0 Ultra-Lite and on almost every cast the lure was hit or a Bluegill was pulled in. Can't wait to try a larger size for Largemouths!
