It was a crisp afternoon on Lake Newman. I untied the canoe from the dock and hopped in as I slowly glided through the water I noticed a large splash in the distance. Musky I thought looking at the water at the cool clean water below the boat. As I reached the dock I gingerly hopped out and made sure the boat was tied tightly on the dock. When I made it down the docks in the bay, I spotted a nice spot near some weeds. I took a cast halfway in, the spinner was slammed with an extreme amount of power. I was caught off guard as the fish rushed for the pilings, I lurched the rod up and reeled slowly making sure the fish would not snap my thin line, just in time as the fish was rushing toward the dock I got on my knees and grabbed hold of my lure heaving the heavy fish upon the dock.
