Don Blakeley – Montevallo, Alabama

Lure: Musky Killer

Fish Caught: Pike, Northern

Several years ago, I was fishing on the French River in Ontario. My dad and I both were using a Musky Killer right at nightfall. I had mine within 2 feet of the boat and a northern hit my bait so hard it splashed about a gallon of water on me. About half the fish came in the boat too (small cedar strip boat. It knocked me off my seat, slimed me and slid back into the blackness, of course the pike shook itself loose from my bait.

In all my life, I'll never forget that one good hit.(Hopefully). We caught other fish, but that one sticks out in my mind. And yes, I saw enough of the fish to know it wasn't a musky. That bad girl was huge!

Ryan – South WI, Wisconsin

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth

A buddy and I went bass fishing every day for about a week and a half and only landed one 12 in largemouth bass. After using everything in the tackle box, I saw the old rusty Mepps. Since I used everything else, I figured I would give it a try. That night we caught 4 bass, and made a trip to Gander Mountain to buy some new shiny Mepps. The next morning we caught no less than TEN 14.5 inch FIVE 13 inch and TWO 17 inch along with about FOUR pike ranging from 22 in. to 24 inches. Wow, I think we found out what we were doing wrong... We weren't using Mepps. Now, we only use Mepps.

Brian Gierat – Chicago Area, Illinois

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Pike, Northern

Let's just say....if I could only take "one" lure with me anywhere in the world to fish, it would be by far a #5 Mepps spinner. These lures catch everything when other lures produce nothing. It's true because I've proved it over and over. Pike simply cannot resist them. Best lure ever!!!!
Many thanks to the Sheldon legacy!!!!!

Alef – Alpine Torrents, Turin Italy

Lure: Aglia Streamer

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

Great lure for trout, they tend to bite for it easily due to a combination of movement and camouflage.

I agree about the hooks though, they are too soft, I've bent a few with 2-4 pound beasts.

J. Patterson – St. Mary's River, Ontario , Canada

Lure: Syclops

Fish Caught: Salmon, Pink

There can be no better lure than a Mepps Syclops in the St. Mary's River. The "rapids", as they are called around here, empties Lake Superior into Lake Huron. This year the pink salmon and chinook run is unbelievable. What is more unbelievable is how the pink salmon cannot resist a slowly jigged Syclops as it passes through the deep holes in the river. Whether I am drifting it, jigging it, or simply casting, the salmon respond. I don't think Alaska could compare to the fishing that we have had the last few weeks. Thanks to the Mepps company for an outstanding lure.

Moe Johnson – Valdez, Alaska, Alaska

Lure: Giant Killer

Fish Caught: Salmon, Coho (silver)

I caught several big silvers with an orange Giant Killer over Labor Day Weekend. My wife and father used several other lures with minimal success, but the Giant Killer produced fish after fish.

Peter Edwards – Bridgewater Canal, Manchester, UK United Kingdom

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Pike, Northern

I use the Mepps Aglia Fluorescent's in UK canals, I believe that the Aglia Fluorescent is only available in Europe, and the US version is the Aglia Glo. Since I started using the Mepps Aglia Fluorescent in the canals of the North West of England, I simply haven't stopped catching fish. The main two predators in UK canals are Perch and Pike, and I have caught both species with great regularity using the Aglia Fluorescent. In fact, since I started using the Aglia Fluorescent's several weeks ago now, there has not been one single fishing session where I have failed to catch a fish. The high visibility of the Aglia Fluorescent is absolutely deadly in the cloudy waters of UK canals.
