My father and I had been using heavy tackle for five straight days with little success when we decided to take a break and go lighter. I had switched to my light action spincast combo with 10 lb test mono and a #5 Aglia Dressed Treble thinking that I would have some fun with the pike and bass when this monster nailed my lure. I knew it was big, but when I saw it I was sure that there was no way I was going to get it in the boat considering the light tackle and mono I was using. The fight lasted about 15 minutes and when we netted it the net started to collapse. I grabbed the frame of the net and helped my father bring it aboard. Needless to say, I switched back to my musky gear but kept using the #5.
