Decided to head to Montana and fish the Meander River, the river was medium height and reasonably clear.I worked my way upstream casting a Mepps #00 Gold Black Fury towards the opposite bank and letting it drift with the current and with a slow retrieve and a little jerk on the line every so often hooked and landed my first ever Brook Trout.It wasn't a big fish but a first for me and the first Brook Trout to be caught in the Meander River as they have never been introduced into it.The inland fisheries seem to think it may have come out of a lake that overflowed further downstream as they did stock it with 60gms fish from their hatchery a couple of years ago. So a first for me & the first Brook Trout taken in the Meander River on the World's #1 Lure, MEPPS.
