This is my 2nd day beach fishing early in the morning after 15 years ago(first time). Some of my friends took me there early in the morning and there were already around 40-50 anglers with fly, bait casting and spinning rod. I took my 7' high end custom made rod by me and with Shimano Twinpower CA-1500(for Europe) with 20 years old Japanese braid line. I'm an knowledgeable angler. I saw many years ago in Fishing show(from Italo maybe) that old takes Mepps works for every fish and I know coho love silver color. That lure was for pink salmon, but, I used the LongCast with GLO pink/silver body with treble hook. I put a sticker silver flashy sticker on the blade and change the treble hook with Japanese saltwater hook barbless( here treble or single hook with barb not allowed on Fraser River saltwater part, only single barbless). The funny thing that on 4th cast got my first salmon and within 20 min, the 2nd one. Out of around 40-50 people I got 2 coho Salmon and another guy got 2 with fly fishing and nobody else got any fish. I think most people do not throw far and use wrong equipment and wrong spoon or spinners.
