We were float fishing the Chena River in Fairbanks with akrivertours.com specifically for grayling. I wanted to try for a Mepps badge and had the guide tie on a #00 Syclops that I brought on the trip. We had to cut off two hooks from the treble because of regulations, but that didn't stop the grayling from hitting it. It was a blast to watch them in the crystal clear water darting after the Syclops. They put up a great fight, but I didn't find one over a pound. Didn't matter - the action and scenery were tremendous!
