Found an old comet minnow in my grandfather’s tackle box. I wish I knew the actual age of the lure but it was still in great shape. Barbs were a little rusty. Decided to give it a try on the stream. On the first cast I missed a nice trout and on the second cast I was able to hook this beautiful brown. It absolutely crushed the comet minnow. This is a quality brown for the state of Iowa. My grandfather past away a few years ago so it felt like he was looking over me in the moment. I’ve caught my two biggest trout on Mepp’s spinner baits! Thanks for letting me share my story!
