I had lost a large pike in this area last year, so came more prepared this year. The red/white single hook Aglia does not come dressed so my son hand ties the red and white tail with deer tail and red feather. This was caught on medium spinning rod, 12 lb test fluorocarbon blend, the barb is crimped. We brought it into the canoe with its head in a trout net and me grabbing the tail. I couldn't have been happier the barb was crimped as the bait came out in quick order and this was my only picture before back in the river it went! It is amazing the number of species this bait will catch but has been my go-to for pike. This was on a canoe trip to Henry's Landing.
