William A. Prescott Jr. and I (Michael M. Prescott) fished through depth variations, water temperature changes, and an assortment of Mepps sizes, colorations, and dressings. After a slow fishing season (presumably due to increased rainfall) we finally found success through persistence and exploration. Normally we work with Mepps #3 through #5 dressed spinners, yet this year, #1 Aglia dressed spinners have been quite successful. The pinnacle of our trials thus far is a 6+lb Smallmouth Bass caught by William A. Prescott Jr.. Understand, this is a rare catch for Eastern Maine, but Bill has been (and continues to be) a skilled angler. Fortunately, we have a photo of this particular fish, but so many "Lunkers" live only in memories and experiences. Still, a few remain in the form of "pencil-traced-cutouts". Next to my Pops, I am proud to say that Mepps lures are the best in the business.
