Decided to switch lures to Mepps bucktail and jig in 30 to 40 feet while my friend did his thing in the shallows. I just got done saying man I never caught a fish on this new rod yet and bam all the sudden it got really heavy. I said man I need some help and I got it up some and he said dude it's a nice musky...took out more line a few times and got it all the way up and he said wow it's a monster walleye...got it finally in the net and it's my first walleye ever and first fish on that rod and reel. Thank goodness I decided to change to a Mepps lure again!!!
