Double Blade Musky Marabou Testimonials

David Gustafson – Lake Mille Lacs, Minnesota

Lure: Double Blade Musky Marabou

Fish Caught: Musky

In my opinion Mepps are the greatest lures on the planet. So when my uncle took me out for my first time ever musky fishing, and pulled out a Mepps Musky Marabou for me to use, I felt very comfortable and had a lot of confidence using it. About an hour into fishing, I hooked up on my first musky! Landed him, it measured 46 inches and was over 20 pounds. I'll always remember that first musky and the Mepps I caught it on.

Eric Weiman – Connecticut River, Rocky Hill, Connecticut

Lure: Double Blade Musky Marabou

Fish Caught: Pike, Northern

Black spinnerbaits with large blades have been catching pike on the Connecticut River so far this Fall. After multiple trips throwing a black spinnerbait with willowleaf blades with no luck, I made the switch to a black Double Blade Musky Marabou this past Sunday morning. This was my first time using this lure. Not more than 30 minutes into throwing it, I was hooked up with and boated a 37" pike weighing 14lb. My biggest pike so far, by far.

The lure was super easy to burn over the top of dying weeds using a 7.0:1 baitcasting reel spooled with 30lb. braid on a 7'4" heavy bass rod.

The large gold blades put out lots of thump and are very visible in the stained river water. The black marabou puts out a nice outline for the fish to target as well. The lure ran true right out of the package and the blades spun effortlessly and never got themselves hung up on the trebles or the shaft. And after the tangle with this very nice northern, the lure still looks and operates like new. The marabou tail also has a great expanding and contracting action when bulged.

My Double Blade Musky Marabou is now my number one lure choice for pike in the CT River. Thank you Mepps!
