Lure: Double Blade Musky Marabou
Fish Caught: Musky
In my opinion Mepps are the greatest lures on the planet. So when my uncle took me out for my first time ever musky fishing, and pulled out a Mepps Musky Marabou for me to use, I felt very comfortable and had a lot of confidence using it. About an hour into fishing, I hooked up on my first musky! Landed him, it measured 46 inches and was over 20 pounds. I'll always remember that first musky and the Mepps I caught it on.Lure: Double Blade Musky Marabou
Fish Caught: Pike, Northern
Black spinnerbaits with large blades have been catching pike on the Connecticut River so far this Fall. After multiple trips throwing a black spinnerbait with willowleaf blades with no luck, I made the switch to a black Double Blade Musky Marabou this past Sunday morning. This was my first time using this lure. Not more than 30 minutes into throwing it, I was hooked up with and boated a 37" pike weighing 14lb. My biggest pike so far, by far.
