Description

Casts like a bullet... Drops Quickly... Runs Deep...

Here is the perfect salmon and steelhead lure for the pier or stream fisherman. It is proven in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. The Mepps Flying C is a heavyweight spinner that drops deep and stays deep throughout the retrieve. In fact, it’s one of Mepps deepest running spinners. Its bright fluorescent sleeve acts as a highly reflective attractor. The Flying C comes in two hefty weights: 5/8 oz. and 7/8 oz. Two heavy duty blade sizes: #4 & #5. Bodies are solid brass. Silver blades are genuine silver plate. Gold blades are polished brass. Painted blades are finished with computer age epoxy. All Flying C’s are available with either a perma steel treble or single salmon hook.

Testimonials

Skipp Washington – Detroit River, Detroit, Michigan

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth

This is a unique lure designed for Salmon but I've caught nothing but big Bass (Largemouth and Smallmouth). The one I have is an older FLYING-C, #4 Silver Blade, (Yellow) sleeve not the Chartreuse(Greenish), single hook, no trailer. Absolutely fantastic action and flash. Now I know why they're called FLYING-C's, they cast a country mile and can be fished at any depth by varying retrieve speed. Great for Walleye and Silver Bass too!

Daniel Cornell – Fall Creek, Ithaca, New York

Fish Caught: Salmon, Quananiche (landlocked)

Bought a Glo Pink Blade/Pink Sleeve Flying C to try to get to the bottom of a deep pool with a very fast current. Caught two huge spawning landlocked salmon in 45 minutes when no one else who was fishing there could get anything down to the fish due to the current. Just purchased a dozen more flying C's. It lives up to it's billing for getting deep and both salmon committed to crushing this lure. Awesome.

Parker Brinson – Brush Prairie, Washington

Fish Caught: Salmon, Coho (silver)

The Flying C at 5/8 and treble hook in glo pink is the best silver salmon lure I have ever used.
Limits every day with just this one lure and nothing else. Finally had to retire one after 26 fish caught on it.
Fishing the Alaska Peninsula on the Egegik River.

Michael – Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho

Fish Caught: Salmon, Kokanee

5/8 oz pink body silver spinner caught kokanee all day trolling with an additional 1/2 to 3/4 ounce lead trolling weight.

Bernard Schwartzman – Lost River, Situk River, Alaska

Fish Caught: Salmon, Coho (silver)

I bought samples of Flying Cs from Northern Ireland in late 80s or early nineties and introduced them on both rivers in Yakutat. They were an immediate success!
I have been using Flying Cs almost exclusively every year since.

Richard Sprau – Hauser Lake Helena , Montana

Fish Caught: Trout, Rainbow

The rainbow trout sure like these things. Caught trout both trolling and casting them. The trout here run 3-5 lbs, but, both 5/8 and 7/8 ounce spinners work, trolling and casting as well. Worst thing is my 12 year old niece was the one who turned me onto these spinners. Chartreuse seems to be what the trout want to eat.

Harold Erickson – Valdez, Ak.-Prince William Sound, Alaska

Fish Caught: Salmon, Coho (silver)

I purchased (2) 6 packs of lures thru the internet from Mepps for Christmas this past year after spending 6 days on the Sound at Valdez. We were there in August and limited out every day using our Mepps.
Trolling or spin casting-made no difference.
A fantastic product I will use when we go to Alaska again in August, this year.
Try it, you'll like it.

Jay Roy – Siusalaw,Florence OR, Oregon

Fish Caught: Salmon, Chinook (king)

The Flying C is one of the best salmon/steelhead catches more fish than any other for me. Lures that GLO or not, all the colers are a must have for your box,a guy could cast to Jupiter, hence, Flying C. ONE MORE CAST!

John Beach – Wrangell Narrows, Alaska, Alaska

Fish Caught: Salmon, Coho (silver) - Salmon, Pink

Two years ago my brother and I went To Alaska to do some salmon fishing for the first time. I wasn't sure what to use, so I read many articles on good lures and spinners. Well, I took a whole arsenal of tackle with me. After trying many things, I tied on an orange Flying-C with a gold blade and I hooked onto a silver salmon right away. My brother put one on and hooked one right away himself. Other fisherman were around, but we were the only ones catching anything. Everyone was asking what we were using everyday. The owner of the lodge we were staying at had never seen one before. Now, he has them in his lodge for sale. This is the third year in a row we are going back to Alaska, but the Flying C is the only lure we take with us. These spinners cast great so I can cover a lot of area. I used a number of colors, but the orange is a must with either a gold or silver blade.
