The mill pond bass where almost totally killed off when a oil company dumped all of there waste products in the pond. But little did my partner and I know that they where still in there! While pike fishing, I pitched my Mepps underneath a tree, the largemouth bass hit two times before I set the hook and luckily we had a small net. Without the net the lure would of gotten off. A couple of days after the bass was caught, my partner and I were declared the Mill Ponds best fishermen!
