I was casting along the rocky shoals of Grand Traverse East Bay in Lake Michigan during a fantastic morning of catch and release bass fishing when this hefty bronzeback engulfed my #3 Mepps Black Fury a few hundred feet from shore. My retrieve stopped dead in its tracks as this spunky bass bulldogged it's way back to my hand. The fish were very active that day and provided steady action on my "go to" spinner for smallmouth bass. I like these in both yellow and white color configurations for this region of Lake Michigan.
