At the beginning of a two week road trip out west to primarily photograph wildlife and landscapes, I figured I would also put to use a small Thunder Bug I had received for free as part of a Mepps order I had placed earlier in the year. My dad and I scoped out a deep pool in a creek near a cabin we were staying in at Custer State Park and we saw several big fish, so we decided that was where we would fish in the morning. We went back and sure enough this nice brown hit on about my 5th cast. It was the first trout I had caught in years but was definitely a memorable one! I have since made sure to add several more Thunder Bugs to my tackle box.
