TGIF Outfitters – Onalaska, Wisconsin

Lure: Timber Doodle

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Pike, Northern

Hang on! That's my best advice with this lure. Skim it across the thickest garbage weeds and muck and watch the big pike and lunker bass explode under it. It drives the oinkers crazy. Best tip, make several casts in the same location as it drives the big ones nuts and they finally bite out of an agressive "I-have-to-kill-it" reaction. Bob Bott

Lure: Comet Mino

This lure should only be available on the black market so I can keep it more of a secret. Our guides turn to this lure when the fishing gets tough. We spray the Mino with scent and use an ultra slow retrieve to dredge up huge fish. If you aren't using this yet ... you're missing it! This lure catches more fish than fishermen. Bob Bott

TGIF Outfitters – Onalaska, Wisconsin

Lure: XD

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth

The XD Dressed Treble in 1/4 oz has caught more smallmouth bass fishing with the mighty current of the Mississippi River than any other spinner bait of its kind by our guides! The blade always spins even going downstream with the fast current. Being ranked in the top ten guides in the USA requires using lures that work ... this is one of our secret weapons... Bob Bott

Lure: Pro's Choice for Trout

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

In the early trout season in the northern regions, the trout love gold blade/black body(dress is optional as well as single or treble hook). As we move into late May and early June, this works as well but, match the hatch as well as water and light. I have found that a silver blade and a black body improves hits. In high sun, gold or copper blade draws them in hard and fast. I have also caught my quota in most places faster than most fly fisherman. I have also realized these trout have a feeding cycle. They only hit in the streams in the dawn to 1:00 p.m., depending on the weather. As the season progresses, the full darker colors are the hot ones, but switch up back to shinny blade/dark body. The trout have been feeding and are slow to act, but if you flash them the hit and I mean hit hard. Good luck to you all. Mepps spinners and streams go hand in hand.

Lure: Pro's Choice for Northern Pike

Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth - Pike, Northern

The #5 dressed Aglia, red/white with white dressing/red quill feather is a good lure for pike and smallies in Ontario in June. Fish the rock reefs for the bronze backs and of course the weed beds for the toothy critters.

Lure: Bucktails and Tandem Bucktails

The tandem bucktail with a #5 Mepps blade has produced several 40"-plus fish for me. I'm going to tie this product into the new LongCast spinner in my favorite combos and see what it does. Set the hook!!!!!
