John Beach – Wrangell Narrows, Alaska, Alaska

Lure: Flying C

Fish Caught: Salmon, Coho (silver) - Salmon, Pink

Two years ago my brother and I went To Alaska to do some salmon fishing for the first time. I wasn't sure what to use, so I read many articles on good lures and spinners. Well, I took a whole arsenal of tackle with me. After trying many things, I tied on an orange Flying-C with a gold blade and I hooked onto a silver salmon right away. My brother put one on and hooked one right away himself. Other fisherman were around, but we were the only ones catching anything. Everyone was asking what we were using everyday. The owner of the lodge we were staying at had never seen one before. Now, he has them in his lodge for sale. This is the third year in a row we are going back to Alaska, but the Flying C is the only lure we take with us. These spinners cast great so I can cover a lot of area. I used a number of colors, but the orange is a must with either a gold or silver blade.

Matthew Bolton – Hiwasee River, Reliance, Tennessee

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Carp - Perch, Yellow - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

I am the third generation of my family to fish this river. I use the Aglia plain treble in all sizes #0-#3 wading the river and when we use the boat I use #3-#5. We catch hundreds of trout a year in our waters when we aren't flyfishing for them and these lures are the only ones I trust when me and my buddy go kayak fishing for bass. It is the single best lure on the market today.

Darius Fagan – Ohinemuri River, Paeroa NZ New Zealand

Lure: XD

Fish Caught: Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

The MEPPS XD lures are deadly on every New Zealand river I have tried them on as they are the perfect wieght and size for getting to the fish in various water types. On the Ohinemuri river I caught a nice 4lb brown trout which I saw chase the rainbow trout blade all the way from the opposite bank it was so desperate to get at the lure.
