Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

I don't know what it is about the B2ST S-W silver/white Mepps #2 Aglias that makes them bass killers in farm ponds, but they are. In fact, if the bass aren't hitting on that particular lure, it's been my experience that they aren't hitting on anything. I've probably bought 2 dozen of them over the years and I usually buy 2 or 3 at a time because I've donated so many to snags and sticks fishing "cover" in ponds, but it's been money well spent. I first tried one as a fluke because it was in my Mepps Basser kit and I'd tried all the flashier lures in the kit one day along with several other makes and models of lure and they just weren't biting. I had no expectation of success with the "plain" silver spinner and white tail, but I proceeded to catch 9 pan-size bass within the next 30 minutes in one walk around the same pond I'd been fishing for an hour without a bite. This is the do-all and end-all lure for catching largemouth bass in our farm ponds. Good job Mepps, and don't dare discontinue this lure.Lure: Flying C

I purchased (2) 6 packs of lures thru the internet from Mepps for Christmas this past year after spending 6 days on the Sound at Valdez.We were there in August and limited out every day using our Mepps.
