Michael M – Bailey's Ford, Iowa

Lure: Thunder Bug

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

My son (4) absolutely loves fishing and asked me if we could go on a special trout-fishing trip together. Having very little experience with fishing for trout, I did a bit of research ahead of time. We were going to be fishing in the Driftless Region where the streams are small enough that spin fishing is an excellent choice. The Mepps Thunder Bug let us "match the hatch" for grasshoppers and I custom-ordered a few single-hooked versions for catch and release. It was an excellent trip; with each of us reeling in a few small brookies, browns, and rainbows on our bugs.

Tony Grimm – Kaw Lake, Oklahoma

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Catfish, Channel

The dressed Aglia is truly a remarkable lure. I went fishing at Kaw Lake and caught 5 different species out of the first 6 fish. Striper, Wiper, Largemouth Bass, Needlenose Gar and 2 Channel Catfish. For a lure that has been in production since 1938, that really says something about it’s effectiveness and the company that makes these great lures. I would like to send a big thank you to Mepps and the employees that work in Wisconsin and in France for building such great lures.

Daniel Heindel – Octoraro Creek, Pine Grove, Chester County, PA, Pennsylvania

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Walleye

I went down to Octoraro with my wife and son to just check it out and boy it played off big time got this one on Mepps dressed Aglia #5 gold blade.

Ben – Central Iowa, Iowa

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim)

The smallmouth can't leave this bait alone -- just caught my PR this evening! I tend to not like fishing treble hooks, so I was pleased to pick up the Black Fury Weedless Combo Killer, which features a single hook and a soft plastic keeper for Mr. Twister Curly Tail Grubs (3 grubs are included in the package). I was suspect of the bayonet-style keeper at first, but it seems to work fine, even in the faster currents of the rivers and creeks where I do most of my fishing. Hooksets are automatic, and fish stay pinned while doing their smallmouth acrobatics. I bought the #2 size in white/black and it casts well, but now I'm wishing I would have picked up the #3 size as well for when I need the extra casting distance. Great product, Mepps, and a good value -- would buy again!
