Lure: Thunder Bug
Fish Caught: Trout, Rainbow
The trout in the upper lake of Taneycomo are very smart as they see every lure in the book. I had to try something they had not seen before so I tossed the Grasshopper Thunder Bug and managed to catch 4 solid 'bows. The following day was overcast and tossed white miller and caught 3 'bows. The Grasshopper color was beat up badly but used it at Roaring River State Park and managed 9 trout. Solid lure only issue is the blade gets worn out quicker than other spinners.Lure: Aglia Marabou
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White)
It has been awesome for me on largemouth, bluegill and crappie.Lure: Little Wolf
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Walleye
About a month ago, I placed an on-line Mepps order for several spinners. Through a fabulous Mepps promo, I received 2 free "Little Wolf" spoons which I used for the first time yesterday; and what a day!Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Striped
My fishing buddy went on vacation to Lake of the Ozarks, unfortunately I couldn't go. I bought him some Mepps #2 Aglia's with Rainbow Trout blade and dressed treble. I knew there were stripers and wipers where he was going and the water is fairly clear. I figured the rainbow trout blade (silver, blue, and pink) would be a very visible lure to an open water fish such as the striped bass. Sure enough, my buddy was in the boat for no more than five minutes when he got a huge hit, and subsequently landed the largest gamefish he ever caught, about a 15 lb striper. This isn't the first time I gave Mepps spinners to people who started catching more and bigger fish. I strongly recommend any fisherman to have a variety of Mepps on hand in different styles and colors, the more you use them the more you'll learn what works to catch fish in more situations.Lure: Musky Marabou
Fish Caught: Musky
In one day me and my dad both had success catching Muskys on this bucktail. My dad caught the first on a white one with a silver blade and weighed in at 8lbs. About 45 minute, later I caught one using a black with a gold blade that weighed in at15lbs. I would highly recommend this lure to anyone wanting to catch a trophy Musky, and I have caught many Northern Pike on it as well.Lure: Comet Mino
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Sunfish (shellcracker)
I was introduced to the "COMET #3" when a good friend of mine was using it.This lure is unbelievable.Even when the fish aren't biting well they still seem not to resist the COMET.We've caught everything from bass, crappie, bluegill and even channelcat.Who needs a tackelbox when they have the COMET.Keep up the good work MEPPS.
