2012 - May Testimonials

Don Bedford – Rondout Creek, Kerhonkson, New York

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Trout, Brown

I gotta say MEPPS are by far my go-to-lure company(Blue Fox is my second) for fishing lures. I own about 5 different patterns, I use sizes 1 and 2. My favorite Mepps is the Aglia gold blade spinner with red bead on the hook. I've caught tons of trout and bass on this lure. One morning I caught 3 13-14 inch browns with this lure, all within 30 minutes without even moving location. Word of advice, buy Mepps and plenty of them.

Shane Heller – Lake Of The Woods, Ontario , Canada

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth - Pike, Northern

I just got back from my annual fishing trip to lake of the woods. Before the trip I picked up a couple of the the Black Furys with the all yellow dots and yellow dressing. It was the first lure I put on when we got started going casting for bass and pike, and it's the only lure I used the whole trip! I caught fish steady with it and eventually had to cough over one of them to my dad so he could keep up! Great lure.

Mountain Man – Englewood, Colorado

Lure: Trophy Series

Fish Caught: Trout, Rainbow

I've been fishing for trout now since November of last year testing lures and colors every week and more. I have caught most of my browns and rainbows on Mepps inline spinners, dark green with a brass blade, and all chartreuse 1/6 to 1/4 weight also will bring up fish from the holes with a hard hit that always lands a fish. In my opinion they are the best spinners for Colorado rivers and streams, followed of coarse by Panther Marten spinners another great lure. I switch back and forth between the two and try different colors but ALWAYS go home during season with fresh fish.

George Lutz – Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth

Last week I fished with three great friends and fellow Bass fishermen. After an hour of throwing spinner bait of ever color in the spectrum, the team was skunked. I pulled out my trusted arsenal of Mepps Aglia and chose a 1/4 oz brass body with a silver/Red & White spinner blade. Within one hour, I had landed six very desirable Largemouth Bass ranging from 1 to 3 pounds. I have used the Mepps products for years and many more to come!! This is a great product without exception!!

Michael Way – Erie Canal, Fayetteville, New York

Lure: Thunder Bug

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (White) - Pickerel

On one trip I caught 5 largemouths, the biggest was 10lb, 10 bluegills, one was 9in, an 18in pickeral and a crappie. All caught on a size 0 in the Bumblebee and White Miller blade pattern.

Dusty Rogers – Private Pond, Ohio

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Crappie (Black)

My friend and I were fishing around 1 p.m. in the afternoon in early May 2012 on a private pond in Pickaway County, OH. I was using a Black Fury #2 and was fishing around downed tree limbs and an old oak stump. I caught a 13 & 14 inch Black Crappie with the Black Fury #2. I would recommend this lure to anyone who likes to catch big fish. It's definitley convinced me to buy more of these type of lures. This was the biggest Crappie I've ever caught.
