I've used every lure you can think, but never a Mepps. I've caught plenty of fish up to about 6 inches. Then I bought a Mepps. In 2 hours, my friend and I caught 9 bass all about a foot long except one that was 16 inches and 2.5 pounds. That is the biggest bass I've ever caught. I have used almost every Mepps lure type available and must say that the Aglia Streamer will by far outfish most. I have caught sunfish, bass, and pickerel on the same trip while using the streamer and others around have been using Mepps and only caught a few fish. One Saturday morning my brother went out on the boat fishing with his bud. He sent me a picture a couple of hours later of a 2 and 1/2 foot pickerel his friend caught. I was stunned and was asking him what he was using. He said he was using a Mepps spinner size 3 Black Fury. My brother bought some of his own and let me try one. Within 2 casts I had landed a largemouth and another shortly after. I was sold, being as I've never had much success on lures at all before. I just started using the Mepps Black Fury about a month ago and was really skeptical about spinners in general. Well after 5 hours on a boat with my friend, we caught roughly 30 pickerel and several 2-3 lb largemouth. My friend also caught a 5 lb pickerel about 28" in length. If you cast the Black Fury and reel it as soon as it hits the water it drives fish nuts, even if they are on the bottom hiding. I usually use a number 3 with yellow dots and tail but have also found good luck on the chartreuse and white colors. If the fish aren't biting anything else, give a Mepps Black Fury a try.
