I have many Mepps lures. When the bite is tough, tie on a Mepps. I use them in cold water up here in the northeast and they don't disappoint. Mepps are great multi species lures, and you can slow roll them or burn them it doesn't matter, there will be a fish on the other end.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Pike, Northern - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow
Most consistent fish catching lures I use anywhere. Had been hooked on another similar spinner but after getting out fished a couple of times made the switch and now its me who's loaning out lures to others who are getting out fished!Started with trout in the Ipswich river , now use Mepps everywhere for anything!Lure: Aglia Streamer

Bought them in Maine never having tried them before. Typically fish for Bass with soft baits and other spinners. With other guys in the boat catching nothing, these still find fish. Completely sold on them for all types of fishing in New England. Stronger hooks would be better though. Heavier set ups would be nice too for bigger fish. The treble hooks do make for a few more landings. I find the brown color works best for more species, but all have caught fish every time I tie one on the line. I would absolutely buy a wider variety of larger sizes and colors if they were available.Lure: Black Fury
Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth
On Sunday July 18th, 2010, at Approximately 3:22 PM, I caught a 3 1/2 pound smallmouth bass on a Mepps Black Fury plain treble, a yellow dot with black blade. I was using a medium retrieve. I was fishing the river in about 4-6 feet of water, in shade, where the still water meets the current, and the smallmouth bass was hiding under a brush pile 10 feet to the right of where I was throwing the bait. The strike took me completely by surprise. The smallmouth hit it so hard he almost ripped the rod out of my hand. While fighting with him, he was so aggressive that he was actually shaking the reel as I was trying to pull him in, all the while jumping 2 feet out of the water. Yet another super aggressive strike on a fantastic bait!!! There will be a picture to follow this testimonial soon. Thanks Mepps. Keep up the good work!!!!!Lure: Aglia Long
Fish Caught: Pickerel
On August 7th 2009, I caught a 29 inch pickerel on a Mepps Aglia Long #3 with a Silver prism style blade. I was throwing it next to a stick pile in shallow water(maybe 4 feet or so)using a meduim retrieve, when all of the sudden the pickerel hit the bait so hard it nearly ripped the rod right out of my hand. It jumped 2 ft out of the water. I fought it for 15 minutes before landing it. The pickerel was 4 lbs 2 ounces. I went to have it weighed and it was 1/2 pound off from receiving a state pin. Thanks MEPPS!!!!! This bait rules. Keep up the good work.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Me and my little brother just went fishing down at the Housitonic and caught a decent 8 or 9 inch brookie. we caught at least 5 more but we felt bad and released them!!!!!! :)Lure: Thunder Bug
Fish Caught: Pickerel
I got my order yesterday and in the order I got a Thunder Bug which was the size #2 Bumblebee color. This is a very hot lure. Today I went out to a small pond right next to my brothers house. I didn't think I would catch anything as I was just passing some time. I caught 3 fish on this lure. One Smallmouth bass, one sunfish and one pickeral which was 16 inches. This lure seems like it could catch anything. I found that reeling it in real slow was helpful. Great Lure. Mepps does it again.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Perch, Yellow - Pickerel
By far the best lure I own, I've given up using others and stick with Mepps Silver's and Gold's. I prefer the Silver's, and the fish always bite. Its great to go fishing with someone and see them switch out lures, not catching fish, trying to "find the niche" then seeing them switch over to the Mepps spinners and never go back. Thanks for a great lure and the pounds of fish I've caught.
