Lure: Thunder Bug
Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black)
Got an older naked cricket pattern in size 1 out of a grab bag, and fish have hit this thing like it owes them money - this summer has been brutal for me, but the thunder bug has rocketed to the top of my confidence list. Over several trips, it just keeps showing up my other offerings - genuine night to day differences. Mepps hit the mark on this beauty with a pile driver, and I hope they never stop making it.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

I am only 28 years old, but at a very young age my pawpaw gave me a bunch of tackle. Most of it was all different kinds of Mepps lures. Sadly, I've lost most of them and they can't be replaced due to their age, but I'll never use any other lure ever again! Started using Mepps at 6 years old and not stopping anytime soon.Lure: Black Fury MX Mino

I have been fishing Mepps lures since I was a kid. I'm 58 now. I used to only use Black Fury's in muddy water. But one time I went fishing and the water was clear. But I already had a Black Fury tied on. So I decided to fish it a while before changing it. First cast, bam. Nice largemouth. Third cast, another. And I continued catching fish. Needless to say, I never changed the lure to an Aglia that day. Since then I have been using the Black Fury's a lot more. I think it is my most productive Mepps. My favorite is Fluorescent Red. Second is pink. I don't have any white yet, but I think they would be great as well. If you aren't fishing Black Fury's, you are missing out.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

I have 35 Mepps spinners in my arsenal. Most of them are the Aglia and mostly red and white. I have every size they manufacture (0-5). I have had more luck with these Mepps spinners than any other lure that I have ever used in my over 45 years of fishing. I will be fishing in channels (cuts) with other fisherman around and I am the only one reeling in the fish. They all ask me what's my secret and I just tell them #3 Mepps and they start reeling in the fish. Mepps is a secret weapon in my arsenal. My motto is: if the fish ain't biting on Mepps spinners, then they ain't going to bite here all day. The main sizes I use are #1, #2, and #3. I will use #4 and #5 in the bigger open waters. You can also use #0 and #1 as flies. The Agila's are so versatile you can determine how deep or shallow you want to fish with these lures. Its winter now in Michigan so I am assessing my lure inventory for the coming fishing season. See you all on the fishing waters in 2025!Lure: Aglia Streamer
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluefish - Crappie (Black)
I have been a big Mepps fan for years. Have been throwing Black Fury's and the standard Aglia spinners for decades. This past spring I finally gave the Aglia Streamer a try. I have always been a little hesitant to purchase these because the biggest size is a size 3. But after reading the testimonials I decided to give it a try. I now know what all the fuss is about! This is an amazing lure. Never seen any other spinner that spins like this thing does. Amazing! Its great for clear water fishing for bass, crappies, and rock bass. I like the gold blade in the brown and rainbow trout. I own multiple of each in size 3. I still wish they would be offered in a larger size though. A size 4 or 5 would be great for pike and walleyes. Great lure!Lure: Thunder Bug

Best spinner I've ever used. I fish this thing all the time and can count on it to nail bass and pickerel all day long. Still get perch and crappie on em too.Lure: USA Aglia

I have been using the plain Aglia gold/red/white #1 spinner and it has produced fantastic results. I have never had so much luck in my fishing career. The amount of fish I have caught with it has paid for itself. I was using #1 Aglia to catch the smaller fish but I have been hooking on to 20 plus inch Northern Pike and smallmouth bass. I plan on getting the same lure in #2 and #3 sizes. I plan on using nothing but Mepps spinners from now on!Lure: Trout Pocket Pac - #0 Aglia Wooly Worm

This trio is extremely effective for a diverse range of fresh water fish. I’ve recently caught multi species of trout in Yellowstone NP with these in size 0 and 1. Black Fury also effective. Prefer single hook for a variety of reasons. A great Go To lure of mine for many decades…especially for shore, wader, canoe/kayak fishing rivers, streams, creeks, ponds, and small lakes. One lure I know I can always toss with confidence! (Use thin, lite, line…4-6’ish.)Lure: Piker Kit - Dressed #5 Aglia Assortment

There is something about that extra flash that will out fish other baits. A number 1 slow rolled will slay trout. I have also caught my person best bluegill on a number 3 along with a 4.5lb bass on a number 1.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

I wish I could select Hickory Shad as well, they can't resist a size 0 or 1 plain silver Aglia. A white dressed size 2 Aglia cast right in the spillway wash was the ticket for the stripers.Lure: Thunder Bug

I originally bought one from a store because I thought it was cool looking (something different). Since then I have caught a lot of fish with it. Including the ones I checked above and add in Florida Gar. After only a year, it is seriously bent, beat, chewed, and wore out. But still catching fish. I consider it my don't get skunked lure.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

I was always a true believer in spoons and live bait. A good friend of mine ask me what I was fishing with and just as I said before. He was knocking the fish out at every cast. Well I guess he felt sorry for me. he gave me a #5 Mepps and the fish never stopped hitting that day and still to this day I am a true believer in this life and consider this to be the world's best lure.Lure: Thunder Bug
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Sunfish (shellcracker)
This is truly an extremely versatile lure. In one day and on the same lure (#2 Thunder Bug Bumble Bee), I caught 9 med. largemouth Bass, 4 Bluegill, 2 Crappie, 1 huge Pumpkinseed, 2 massive Bull Bream. I have but one suggestion, make this in a size #3 and you will have covered all the game fish in the Sunfish family, including big Largemouth and Smallmouth. Something about the sonic properties of this lure fish find irresistible! All in a days work.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

As a kid I grew up using Mepps, in WI and MN. The 21 years I was in the Army, I didn't fish at all. After retirement my wife told me, I needed a hobby, so I took up fishing again, after nearly 25 years. And went and bought a bunch of Mepps and other lures. I can't lie, I am a spinner loving fisherman. Over the last 3 years I have used Mepps almost exclusively. And mainly the Aglia dressed #5 and #3. I have caught tons of fish with them, from Large Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Small Mouth, Walleye, Bowfin, Crappie, Catfish, and White Bass. I have been to Mepps in Antigo three times with friends to take the tour and get resupplied on my selection. Each time Bev and the crew have been awesome, and a big thanks to them.Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

I've caught tons of fish on my Comet Mino, but the most excellent fish I caught was a 39in. northern pike. It was massive. It had a diameter of 15in. It took an hour to fillet it. And the same day I caught a huge 28in walleye. I'm for sure telling everyone I know about your guy's Comet Mino. I have never caught so many fish on one lure. I'm a 14 year old kid from Minnesota that doesn't have a job, but loves to go fishing and never, I mean never, had so much fun with one lure. I'm for sure going to save up some money to buy another one of these. I'll make sure everyone I know, knows about these.Lure: Aglia BRITE

At 64 I've fished extensively throughout the Upper midwest from Northern Lower Mi. to Northern Mn. and everywhere in between for over 50 years. I am never without multiple styles and sizes of Mepps spinners. They have been my "go-to" lure all my life and I've caught everything I fish for on them. They always produce when nothing else will and never disappoint. This new "Aglia BRITE is my new favorite style. It amazes me that I will catch fish with it when with buddies who are using something else get skunked. Keep supplying us with these!Lure: XD

I love my dressed aglia with a copper blade and black tail. I catch all kinds of fish with this thing. All of my friends don't believe me when I tell them I catch so many fish, until I take them out on my boat and show them. Once they see how many and how fast I catch them they all want to know how to get their own lure. So I tell them to get on the Mepps website and order their own. I have a lot of aglia lures with all different color blades and tails, but it seems the fish just can't resist the copper and black. Thanks Mepps for making fishing so much fun!!!
