Charles And Jeanine Keevert – Cheney Lake Kansas, Kansas

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Walleye

We bought our first Black Fury in 1960. After that we have bought lots of Mepps exclusive.
All we have in our tackle box are Mepps!

Melissa Creekmur – Pond, Kentucky

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Carp - Catfish, Blue - Crappie (White) - Perch, Yellow

I am a 45 year old woman I have been fishing since I was 3 years old. First started with my grandfather. He had always used nothing but Mepps spinners. So I followed in his foot steps. I try new lures on occasion but have found its a waste of time for me. I will only use Mepps to catch the fish!!! They are the best!!

Gabe Resto – Beaverdam Creek On The Wicomico River In Salisbury, Maryland

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Striped - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Perch, White

I wish I could select Hickory Shad as well, they can't resist a size 0 or 1 plain silver Aglia. A white dressed size 2 Aglia cast right in the spillway wash was the ticket for the stripers.

John Hunter – Tinicum, Pennsylvania

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Musky - Perch, Yellow - Pickerel - Snakehead

The Mepps number 5 dressed Aglia is my favorite freshwater lure. Its my number one lure for bass and snakehead. It catches anything that swims in freshwater!

Tony Grimm – Kaw Lake, Oklahoma

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Catfish, Channel

The dressed Aglia is truly a remarkable lure. I went fishing at Kaw Lake and caught 5 different species out of the first 6 fish. Striper, Wiper, Largemouth Bass, Needlenose Gar and 2 Channel Catfish. For a lure that has been in production since 1938, that really says something about it’s effectiveness and the company that makes these great lures. I would like to send a big thank you to Mepps and the employees that work in Wisconsin and in France for building such great lures.

Avery Woods – Pine Lake Waverly Ohio, Ohio

Aidan Baumstark – Califon, New Jersey

Lure: Double Blade Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Pike, Northern - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Lake - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye

This is possibly the greatest fishing lure ever devised, it can be fished deep, shallow, fast or, slow. I caught my personal best bass, my personal best pike, and my personal best trout on this lure. I have never had a better lure than this, the next time that I see this lure I will buy 10. Thank you, Mepps!

Kevin – Culver Lake Branchville, New Jersey

Lure: XD

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Perch, White - Perch, Yellow - Pickerel - Barracuda

The dressed XD size 3 with white (silver blade) and yellow (gold blade) is a killer for the hybrids. I tend to troll with these lures and it doesn't take long. It also attracts all the other fish in the lake. If it wasn't for the pickerel I wouldn't need to order so many of these :)

Eric D Silva – Mount Juliet, Old Hickory Lake, Tennessee

Lure: Basser Kit - Plain Lure Assortment

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Crappie (Black)

I'm a 26 year old kayak angler. My dock is in my backyard on Old Hickory Lake. I'm a bass man and so is my 7 year old son...

Don Nelson – Coffee County Lake, Kansas

Lure: Bass Pocket Pac - #3 XD Dressed

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Perch, White - Walleye

I have been trolling spinners and crankbaits for 30 years. I have tried every spinner on the market. For 2 years I fished the pro bass circuit in the 70s. I fish at least 2 days a week. When you are tolling there is absoleutly nothing that will catch as many fish as the Mepps XD spinners. You need to use a ball bearing swivel and 10lb braid line or 8lb monofilament line. Saturday my son and I went fishing and caught one 5lb Walleye, 3 crappie over 12" and 19 white bass on these Mepps XD spinners. We also caught 12 hybrids that were an average of 2 lbs. And, we threw back 6 crappies over 11" long. The Mepps XD is the most reliable bait you can use while casting or trolling.

Dustin Long – Great Miami, Kiser Lake, Ohio

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Perch, Yellow - Pike, Northern - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Walleye - Catfish, Flathead

From 0 to number 5 these baits always work. Best baits in the world. My go-to bait every time I'm out. These lures will catch just about everything. Caught my 38-inch northern pike out of the Great Miami River. My mounted 29-inch northern. Catch smallmouth all day long with these. Double blades are also great. Silver blades with white bucktail. Also, the ones without a bucktail with the orange plastic piece works great. Great product, good prices. Wish I could fish for a living.

Joshua Murrow – North East Kansas, Kansas

Lure: Comet Mino

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye

To sum up this spinner anything that will feed on shad or minnows will hit a Mepps Comet Mino.

Pucker – Pioneer Park Pond, Utah

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped

The size 2 dressed Aglia with a silver blade and brown dressing is the best lure you could get for bass and big trout GO MEPPS!

Nicholas Cuzio – Stony Creek,Branford, Connecticut

Lure: Musky Killer

Fish Caught: Bass, Striped

While on a pier one evening plugging, trying everything in my tackle box(I always use Mepps spinners in freshwater with much success), I pulled out a #5 Musky spinner with dressed treble which I felt confident with. The third cast had a hard hit, fish tore off 20 yards of line, I fought the fish for 10 minutes, to my surprise when I saw it was a striper 33" long. Great night.

Bassman – Lake Livingston, Livingston, Texas

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Striped - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Perch, White - Perch, Yellow

I've been bass fishing for 35 years, I caught my first 9 1/2 lb bass on a Fluorescent Orange Mepps Black Fury . Chartreuse Mepps Black Fury #3 is my best friend. When I don't want to search a long time for bass, I'll use the Black Fury, with the first 2 cast if I don't get any hits I'll move. Normally within 2 cast the fish are there. I've caught 2 to 3 lb crappie easy. This is the BEST lure made , next to the plastic worm . lol

BarryBertino – Delaware River,Palmyra New Jersey, New Jersey

Lure: Musky Marabou

Fish Caught: Bass, Striped

Hello, Jim, Michael and the entire Mepps sales and distro team. I want to thank you for providing excellent yearly press releases combined with monthly newsletters. These efforts are what is the patient and appreciated job related duties and work related criteria all industry companies should be following and executing. The lack of these efforts by other industry manufacturers and distro/media companies are the main reason why the industry is in an economic downward spiral and the excuse of the nationwide economic downturn is not the scapegoat most are using. The entire Mepps Team's enthusiasm and support for anglers, sporting goods and most of all each other relate in the catches and consistant intrest many anglers still have when it comes to catching fish in both fresh and saltwater fisheries. I am proud to say that the Marabou and large Tiger Musky Marabous acquired years back were field tested in the lower branch channel of the Delaware River by a selected and historic fishing and Gun Club member known as Lenny Rychychowski. This club is dated back into the 1800's and Lenny's proficiency in angling is exceptional. The sad thing here in New Jersey is water polution, clarity and most of all the unlikely sportsmanlike fish care and fishing pressure which has been adding to a shortage in population of many species of fish. Limits and on most adventures and guides any catches are far and in between....however, the Tiger Musky Marabou and the Large sized Marabous combined with most any spinners from Mepps Gallery of a wide variety of glossy, gleaming and feathered trimmed lures which I call Chicken lures...well...Lenny caught many a Striped Bass and a heck of alot of limits of Bass and many species of panfish including perch and bowfin on a wide array of great Aglia lures from Mepps.
May I demand all other industry leaders to follow the plans of media and angler relations in which Jim and Michael follow as their passion and love of the sport coinciding with their well versed knowledge in fishing is nothing less and nothing more than good news and views for a great sense of the future for both, anglers and the forecast of Growth in Sales for stocked shelves of fantastic and productive lures. The Tradition lives on and it's a wonderful thing here at Mepps and in the USA as we are still able to see employees execute criteria which is necessary for success in both growth in catches and sales!
Lenny and I have traveled and fished extensivley for well over 43 years and national catches can be related to mostly the spirit in using Mepps products! Thanks so much again for a "JOB WELL DONE!"

PS:The Grab Bags are like taking the loot without a gun! Oddles of top of the line, up-to-date lures made with quality materials which are not degrading and falling apart as in comparison to other more expensive swimbaits and so called new and innovative lures like the Optimum Swimbaits I have field tested and watched deteriorate right before my eyes. Why pay more money for untested and testimonialed products when for a value, keep a consistant tradition alive and by Mepps Products! Don't forget...send those Squirriel tails in for the Squirriel programs are important for making quality lures backed by quality people combined with allowing hunters and anglers to make a fare market value in revenue with their bagged catches!

Keep up the Great Job and anyone who feels as though their Pro...GO MEPPS and you are a part of Tradition...Go Mepps...Go Pro!

Shanen Woodson – Lakes, Rivers, Ponds, Colorado

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow

Mr. Sheldon,
First of all I would like to applaud your grandfather for making the best lure out there. My father taught me at a very young age that a Mepps Aglia #3 gold-gray was the best lure on the planet. I caught my first fish on a lure with this model. As far as I knew, why use anything else. I can honestly say there has been thousands of fish caught on this lure by my family. I've caught largemouth bass, striper, sandbass, crappie, brim, and even catfish on this model. It never really matters if we are fishing a creek, pond, lake, or river. I've even caught trout, red drum, durado, ling and other salt water species off the Texas coast on the Aglia #3 gold-gray. I've caught browns and rainbows in Colorado on the Aglia #1 silver-gray. Aglias' catch everything! When you say it is the world's #1 lure, you aren't kiddin'!

All my bass fishing buddies laugh at me when I tie on the lucky Aglia #3 gold-gray. But they ain't laughing at the end of the day. They all have your lure in their tacklebox now! I could tell you many Mepps stories and probably write a book about it, and maybe one day I will. I'll dig around the archives and try and send you some pics of some great Mepps experiences. Once again, thank you and your family for producing the world's #1 lure.

Mepps Customer Always,

Shannen R. Woodson

Robert Hayett – Lake Of The Ozarks, Missouri

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Striped

My fishing buddy went on vacation to Lake of the Ozarks, unfortunately I couldn't go. I bought him some Mepps #2 Aglia's with Rainbow Trout blade and dressed treble. I knew there were stripers and wipers where he was going and the water is fairly clear. I figured the rainbow trout blade (silver, blue, and pink) would be a very visible lure to an open water fish such as the striped bass. Sure enough, my buddy was in the boat for no more than five minutes when he got a huge hit, and subsequently landed the largest gamefish he ever caught, about a 15 lb striper. This isn't the first time I gave Mepps spinners to people who started catching more and bigger fish. I strongly recommend any fisherman to have a variety of Mepps on hand in different styles and colors, the more you use them the more you'll learn what works to catch fish in more situations.

Kyle Smith – Sturgeon, Missouri

Lure: Comet Mino

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Striped - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Sunfish (shellcracker)

I was introduced to the "COMET #3" when a good friend of mine was using it.This lure is unbelievable.Even when the fish aren't biting well they still seem not to resist the COMET.We've caught everything from bass, crappie, bluegill and even channelcat.Who needs a tackelbox when they have the COMET.Keep up the good work MEPPS.
