I bought a ton of Mepps spinners and spoons and caught a lifetime of trout and salmon! Mr. Sheldon, I hope your company grows and reaches the entire world in your quest to satisfy millions of fishermen with Mepps! You make the number one spinners in the entire world, undoubtedly no one can dispute that! I've been using Mepps ever since adolescence and your lures never let me down! I hope you keep making more successful lures in the future and grow your business a thousand fold. Don't forget Syclops! Simply better than Pixees, no other spoon comes close to producing fish than Syclops. I wanted to send you a personal letter by mail, but I'm so busy with work, I hope this email reaches you safely. I just want to commend you for making the best trout and salmon lures in the world. Been using Mepps for 35 years and I'm a very happy customer! Richard Ponton – Roanoke River Salem Va , Virginia

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook

Caught on a #3 Silver Mepps 3, weeks after stocking. 2 pounds 9oz

Matt Corliss – Upper And Lower Peninsulas, Michigan

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bowfin - Musky - Perch, Yellow - Pike, Northern - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Walleye

The Mepps #3 gold with the brown tail is by far my favorite lure in my tackle box. I will not head out fishing if I don't have one. I have caught all of the fish listed above on a gold #3 with a brown tail. I typically target Northern pike, but will frequently catch Bass, and other fish, unintentionally. The best pike I ever caught was around 40 inches, but I have caught countless others over the years. Whenever someone asks my advice on fishing, I recommend the Mepps #3 and tell them that is all they will ever need.

Aidan Baumstark – Califon, New Jersey

Lure: Double Blade Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Pike, Northern - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Lake - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye

This is possibly the greatest fishing lure ever devised, it can be fished deep, shallow, fast or, slow. I caught my personal best bass, my personal best pike, and my personal best trout on this lure. I have never had a better lure than this, the next time that I see this lure I will buy 10. Thank you, Mepps!

Mark Bell – Harwood Lake , Farmersville , New York

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Perch, Yellow - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown

The lure I reach for first, no matter what I am fishing for is a Gold size 1. It's always catching me trout at the small lake near where I live, catching my limit, even when those right near me are catching nothing. I like how it makes me look like a great fisherman by just knowing the right lure to use. People ask me what I am using and I just tell them to switch to a Mepps spinner. You made Mepps my favorite lure when you first sent me your Fishing Guide 20 years ago and I have been using them and catching fish ever since.

Mark Bell – Harwood Lake , Farmersville , New York

Lure: Little Wolf

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Perch, Yellow - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown

Have been using Mepps all my life. But, when I first bought a Little Wolf, it was gold. It became one of my favorites. First day I used it while fishing at a small lake near where I live in western New York, I caught 3 largemouth bass,at least 5 bluegill, a couple of crappie, and 4 brook trout in about a hour. I then passed it on to my wife so she could catch some fish, since the live bait she was using had only caught her a couple of bluegill. This gold Little Wolf and others that I have bought this season, have been producing every time.

Pete Wise – East Licking Creek, Port Royal, Pennsylvania

Lure: Bantam Syclops

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

Ultralight spinning for trout is my passion, and I can always count on Mepps lures for success. On a recent trip to a favorite small stream, I caught and released native brook trout as well as wild rainbows and browns...all taken on a #0 Bantam Syclops spoon in silver and red. This great lure has never let me down. It is one of my "go to" lures for trout and panfish, and the larger Syclops are outstanding for river smallmouth bass! Simply put, Mepps lures catch fish when nothing else will.

Travis Hill – White Pine River, Cloquet River And Private Lake , Minnesota

Lure: Minos

Fish Caught: Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Perch, Yellow - Pike, Northern - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

I love Mepps!! I only really use Mepps, not just spinners, but, I ordered replacement Minos and use them on spring crappie and sunny spawn. I catch 3 fish to everyone else's!!! How you ask? I don't have to get a minnow out of minnow bucket! Plus, I use Mepps on fly rods with a sight indicator. Between St. Croix and Mepps I will continue to dominate anyone I fish with!!!

Jerry Wilson – Elk River, Avery County, North Carolina

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

I am in the high Appalachians of Northwest North Carolina. Don't let Elk "River" fool you. Like most of our cold, rugged, high mountain streams it is 50 yards wide at it's widest and normally half that on average. It is, on average knee to waist deep with pools just over my head. I am 6'2". However, it is running down a mountain and the currents, undertows, whirls and eddies make it dangerous. Our trout season opens the first Saturday in April - many times up here there is a snow covering on opening day, but the Elk is normally thawed sufficiently for fishing. From opening day until mid-September the copper, undressed Aglia, "0", single drop is THE Spinner. This spinner is effective on Rainbow until the Elk freezes over-in January usually. However, I switch to pink in the fall, because the Browns and Brookies seem to love it and few Browns or Brookies are caught before fall here. Come to Avery and Watauga counties in North Carolina to trout fish. If you have tried the Asheville area it is great trout fishing. We are 1500 to 3000+ feet above Asheville; we are a different world.

Brian Kreutz – Madison, Wisconsin

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, Striped - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (White) - Perch, Yellow - Pike, Northern - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye

I LOVE the Aglia spinners. My son and I use them as a "go to" lure for pretty much anything we fish for and ALWAYS have luck when we do. Thanks for making such an awesome product Mepps!!!!

Bob Hayett – Heritage Lake, Olathe, Kansas

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Crappie (White) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow - Walleye

I have found that Black Furies work amazingly well in two situations: In and around rocky shorelines and reeling them fast over spawning fish. I caught nearly a ten pound largemouth last year right next to a rocky shore.

Ethan – Da UP, Michigan

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Perch, Yellow - Pike, Northern - Salmon, Coho (silver) - Steelhead - Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow

I've caught so many fish with these... Best lures around, IMHO. Learn how to use them properly and they will produce bites.

Derek – Ivy River, Asheville, North Carolina

Lure: Comet TRU-V

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow

This is a new lure so I thought I'd buy one just to try it out and it did not disappoint. I caught several trout using the Tru-V including the two biggest fish I caught that day. I was using the Firetiger with Black Dot, but, I'll definitely look to add a few more to the tackle box. This lure is a great addition to the Mepps line.

James – Leaser Lake, New Tripoli, Pennsylvania

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Pike, Northern - Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow

This lure works fantastic in deep rocky water where visibility is low. It retrieves smoothly and casts perfectly (as in weight). I use the No. 2 mainly and catch about 8 trout per day in the 9-11" inch range. The dressed lures even attract 2-3 lb. bass in at times. Overall a great lure made by the best in the business.

Andrew – Lakes, Ponds, Streams, Creeks, Rivers , Pennsylvania

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

Like most other posts, this is the go-to-lure. When all else fails or fishing is tough and unpredictable this is the first thing I will turn to. Favorite is a number 3 with a red-white blade with a white tail. This became my favorite after this last weekend of fishing. I was fishing the Susquehanna River for smallmouth. We were using spinnerbaits in the early morning and caught a few nice fish, and then the bites stopped. Switched to the Mepps and started nailing fish. Caught 23 fish with this lure! There were a couple smaller fish, but, most were respectable sizes with a few 3-4 pounders. Love these lures and the great quality! Keep up the good work.

William Jackson – Guadalupe River, Kerrville, Cibilo Creek, Cibilo, Texas

Lure: Comet Mino

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Blue - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (Black) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow

I am 53 and have been fishing Mepps spinners since I was 4 years old from as far north as Fairbanks, Alaska, to as far south as Oakville, Texas. When it seems that nothing is biting, the Mepps Comet Minos sizes 00, 1, 2, or 3, always save the day as do the Aglia with squirrel tails. I saw my father catch Salmon and Grayling on Mepps while I have caught Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth bass, Spotted Bass, Guadalupe Bass, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Green Sunfish, Longear Sunfish, Redear Sunfish, Redspotted Sunfish, Warmmouth, Rock Bass, White and Black Crappie, Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, and once a silver shad. I have caught panfish barely larger than the lure to Bass over 4 pounds. All the Mepps products are winners. They are fantastic.

John – Raritan River, Branchburg Nj, New Jersey

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Perch, Yellow - Pickerel - Pike, Northern - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Palomino - Trout, Rainbow

I went fishing at a local river on Saturday and no one around me was catching fish but me! I was the only one using a Mepps lure, everyone else was using bait. I caught my limit in 45 min. while I only saw one other person catch a trout.

Dillon Thompson – Sanora Pass ,ca, California

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

In one weekend camping off of Sanora Pass, I personally caught 23 rainbow trout ranging from 10 to 17 inches. By far, this is the best fishing product I have ever purchased, the plain Aglia 1/8 oz. rainbow trout or gold blades.

John Tedrick – Eagles Nest Wilderness Area, Never Summer WA, Colorado

Lure: Thunder Bug

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Cutthroat

Fished the Thunder Bug lure for the 1st time in small waters in high country wilderness areas. It was a riot to sight fish brook trout and watch them chase this lure like a pack of puppy dogs until one would bull its way through and take it. Easily caught & released a few dozen over two days. On a second trip into Never Summer WA, Cutthroats slammed this lure and while the fish caught & released weren't high in numbers, the excitement was good. I can't wait to try this lure on larger warm water species!

Antonio Osegueda – Sonora Pass Off Of Walker California, California

Lure: Grab Bag Specials

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

The best spinners I've ever used. Got to a river right along the Sonora Pass and pulled out a See Best plain teble hook spinner from the Grab Bag and within the first 30 minutes of fishing, I caught two beautiful rainbow trout. These spinners are worth every penny!

Dillon Thompson – Kennedy Meadows Pack Station, California

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

I used the 1/8th oz. Rainbow Trout Aglia to catch 26 nice size Rainbow Trout in one day at the Kennedy Meadows Pack Station. This truly is the Worlds Number One Lure.

Outdoorsman – Wisconsin

Lure: Spin Flies

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown

The Mepps Spin Fly is a great trout spinner. I caught the biggest fish probably ever in our little creek on these spinners.

Roscoe Solley – NY, PA, GA, FL, Fl Keys, EVERYWHERE, Pennsylvania

Lure: Minos

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Perch, Yellow - Salmon, Coho (silver) - Salmon, Sockeye (red) - Steelhead - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Cutthroat - Trout, Lake - Trout, Rainbow - Trout, Sea/Speckled - Salmon, Chinook (king)

These Mino spinners have been one of the greatest lures I have ever used, everything likes them, to the point that I have several of each size in three different tackle boxes. When nothing is biting on anything I throw in, all I have to do is throw one of these in and let the fun begin. I prefer the chad, but also have the Rainbows just in case the weather turns bad, seems the worse the weather, the Rainbows work better. These are also good for SEA TROUT in southern FL. Great all around lures.

John Cummings – Ipswitch River ,Topsfield, Massachusetts

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Pike, Northern - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

Most consistent fish catching lures I use anywhere. Had been hooked on another similar spinner but after getting out fished a couple of times made the switch and now its me who's loaning out lures to others who are getting out fished!Started with trout in the Ipswich river , now use Mepps everywhere for anything!

Adrian Webb – Meander River, Montana. Tasmania Australia

Lure: Black Fury Ultra Lites

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown - Trout, Rainbow

I decided to go & fish the Meander River in overcast, cool conditions. On arriving I noticed the river was a little higher than last time here which was good as there was a good flow of water coming down. I started working my way upstream casting towards the other side of the river and letting the Mepps #00 Gold Black Fury spinner drift with the flow of the river. With a slow retrieve and a little jerk on the rod every now and then had a hook-up in the first section of river I was working. To my surprise it was a Brook Trout,a fish not stocked in this river by the Fisheries Dept. Wow! What a shock it was and the first brook trout I have ever caught and the first one caught in this river as well. That made it a first for Mepps too,the first Mepps lure to take a brook trout in the Meander River. As the day went on and I worked my way upstream for another 1.2kms and finished the day with 16 Brown Trout & 1 Rainbow Trout, a great day on the river. Found out that the Brook Trout may have come from a lake downstream that had overflowed and the fish more than likely came over the spillway and woked its way up the Meander River.

JEFF COSTIGAN – CRYSTAL LAKE, SULLIVAN COUNTY NY, New York

Lure: Black Fury

Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Pickerel - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Rainbow

HAVE USED THE BLACK FURY FOR MANY YEARS, GREAT LURE, HARDLY LETS ME DOWN. PICKEREL LOVE IT BURNED. ALTHOUGH I REALLY LIKE THIS LURE, IT IS NOT MY ALL TIME FISH CATCHER, THAT LURE WOULD BE THE ACME KASTMASTER. I USE ALL SILVER TYPE THE MOST, COME IN GOLD, & OTHER COLORS. BUT MEPPS SPINNERS ARE A GREAT LURE. MANY A TRIP HAS BEEN SAVED BY THEM. A GREAT LURE THAT I WOULD TELL EVERY FISHERMAN TO BUY AND USE. JEFF COSTIGAN.

Julian – Presumpscot River, Westbrook, Maine

Lure: Aglia & Dressed Aglia

Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth - Perch, Yellow - Trout, Brook

I've been using my size 1 Aglia dressed treble for two days, and have already landed 6 fish with it! This lure is amazing, I would highly recommend it to anyone, and it's the first thing I go to now!

Austin Davis – East Coast, Vermont

Lure: Aglia Streamer

Fish Caught: Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown

Hi Shep...
Hope you are having a fantastic day. My name is Austin Davis, I am a 27 year old, Chiropractor, who's been fishing since I was 5 and just wanted to write you a quick note to thank you (and Mepps) and to share a story. I am an avid fisherman, Recently I flew from Oakland, Ca. (my new home) to the East Coast (where I was born and raised) to visit friends and Family in CT, NY, RI and VT. Knowing that most of my friends and family live in pretty rural areas, I was excited to bring my fishing rod and do some exploring.
Upon landing I realized that I had not brought any lures, just the rod and reel. As soon as my buddy picked me up in NYC we drove to Eastern Vermont, where he lives (near Hartland, VT) and I made him stop in the first general store we saw. They had about 6 lures and an assortment of hooks...so I grabbed a Mepps lure, because I had never used one and had heard a lot of good things. It was a single hook spinner, with a gold leaf and the the lure itself looked a bit like a large Marabou Fly ( but tied tighter, with 2 long, thin red feather accents off the top) in a dark green color.
I Really didn't know what to expect from the lure, because it looked like a fly and was a single hook spinner. Let me tell you...this one of the best lures I have ever used. I caught 7 different kinds of fish (no real trophies, but then again I was fishing tiny ponds and creeks the whole time, which was really a lot of fun) in 4 different states. The list is: Rainbow trout, Brook Trout, Perch, Pike, sunfish, chub, and Largemouth Bass. It was literally the only lure I used the entire trip and was able to not get it snagged and if I did it always came free eventually (Ithink that's bc of the single hook design). I have attached some pictures of the fish, I didn't get to photograph all of them.
As a consumer who has used countless different styles and types of lure, I'd really like to thank you for making a truly top quality product, on which I would def use again and again. This trip has converted me to a Mepps Fanatic will definitely be recommending your product to Family, Friends and Patients.

Thanks again,
Austin Davis
